‘Call of Duty’ Director Says He’d Consider Tom Hardy and Chris Pine For Roles

Feb 20, 2018

Last week, it was revealed that Activision Studios was in negotiations with Sicario 2: Soldado director Stefano Sollima to make their first Call of Duty feature film.

Now, Metro caught up with Stefano in Milan,Italy and asked him about the video game project and who he’d like to cast. He mentions the likes of Tom Hardy and Chris Pine, the two previously worked together on the film This Means War.

“I mean, I like almost everything [he’s been in]. I’m waiting for his Venom. Even in Mad Max, he was great.”

On Pine.

“He’s tough, but he’s smart and he can have a sense of humour but he can [also] be in such a dramatic role,’ the director explained. ‘I like when you feel that an actor can play with different nuances and tone because this means they’re a good actor.”

Nothing suggests either are actually being in the mix but it’s an exciting prospect.

Production dates and a distributor haven’t been locked down, but like with the Ubisoft films, it’s assumed they’ll attempt to get a director and leads attached as a package before putting together a studio deal.
