Channing Tatum Announces Role In ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’; Likely Playing Statesman

Apr 14, 2016

Channing Tatum has announced via his Twitter account that he’s joined the growing cast of Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

The role isn’t known but it’s strongly assumed he will be playing one of the American Kingsman known as the Statesman.

Gambit‘s production delays has opened-up Tatum’s schedule allowing him to join the action comedy, which should help place him more on an international action franchise stage. As the X-Men spin-off could use promoting it’s lead in huge action film like this before it’s release.

Narcos actor Pedro Pascal had recently joined the production in the role of Jack Daniels, which assumed to be one of the Statesman as well. The American faction works out of a whiskey distillery instead of a tailor shop.

New additions include Julianne Moore as the main villain with Halle Berry expected to play the director of the C.I.A. Returning cast members include Taron Egerton, Sophie Cookson, Mark Strong, and even hints of a return from Colin Firth.

Production begins this summer with a release date slatted for June 16th, 2017.
