Chris Evans Supports ‘Scott Pilgrim’ Co-Star Brie Larson for ‘Captain Marvel’ Role

Jun 4, 2016

Chris Evans while at Wizard Word was asked about his thoughts on the possibility of Brie Larson playing Captain Marvel, as reported by Variety earlier in the week the actress is in talks. Larson just happens to be a co-star of Evans before he made the jump to the Captain America role, not unlike Scarlet Johansson. The two didn’t share screen time but had roles in Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim.

“I just heard that today!.. I really hope that happens, I love Brie Larson.. I cannot say enough about Brie Larson, I think she’s phenomenal and I really hope that happens.”

Marvel does seem to like to cast people who have worked together or have some sort of connection with previous leads, there is also a possibility that Carol Danvers and Steve Rogers could hook-up romantically in the future. It doesn’t hurt having two actors that might have chemistry and a mutual respect working together.

I’d also like to point-out to filmmakers, that I fully support a Top Gun karaoke bar scene with Danvers if Larson lands the role.
