Chris Hemsworth & Chris Pine Walk Away From ‘Star Trek 4’ Contract Negotiations

Aug 11, 2018

Today, The Hollywood Reporter announced that both Captain Kirks; Chris Hemsworth and Chris Pine have walked away from the negotiation table to star in Star Trek 4. According to their sources, the two actors are asking Paramount and Skydance to hold to their existing contracts. However, the studio is trying to keep a tighter budget when offering a new contract to the movie stars.

So the two have left the table; this is typical negotiation tactics. The studio needs the two back (more so Chris Pine) to reprise the roles of both Kirks. The studio may return with a better offer for the actors. But for the meantime, it looks like Star Trek 4 may be without it’s Captain. Contract offers were expected to follow for fellow cast members  Zoe Saldana, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and John Cho.

Female director S.J. Clarkson is going to helm the film. With a screenplay by Patrick McKay and John D. Payne.

Star Trek 4 has no set release date
