In a new interview with Collider, actor Chris Hemsworth confirmed he has three more films on his contract which includes Thor Ragnarok and the two Avengers Infinity War films. He also reveals Chris Evans has a similar deal for appearing in Infinity War too, something I don’t think anyone expected to hear. This might be a bit jarring to people expecting Steve Rogers to be killed-off like his comic book counterpart in Captain America Civil War. Hemsworth also is confirming what we’ve been hearing for months that Thor won’t be apart of the events of Civil War.
Evans’ Steve Rogers is now on almost equal footing with Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark in popularity, they might ease-down on the solo films after Civil War but I don’t see them killing the character. I mean they’ve had ample chances to kill-off Black Widow as well who dies in the comics but she keeps popping-up alive. To be fair we actually have no clue if Marvel would be willing to kill-off a beloved major character like Captain America before Infinity War.
The Russo Brothers will be taking over directing duties from Joss Whedon while Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus will write the two films.
