Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto Reportedly Have Made Deals For ‘Star Trek 4’

Jun 26, 2015

As production begins on Star Trek Beyond in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. A new report from Heat Vision suggests that the cast have made some nifty new contract deals with Paramount Studios, which includes two cast members getting options for Star Trek 4.

Sources say that a condition of the raises for Pine and Quinto was that the studio was granted options for a fourth movie in order to keep one of Hollywood’s most iconic pairings, Kirk and Spock, intact.

Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, the faces of the franchise, are said to have already made a deal to appear in the fourth installment. I’m sure the studio’s eagerness stems from the massive success of Guardians of The Galaxy and the revival of the Star Wars franchise, the latter will have installments released every year. The new Trek films have yet to set the universe on fire with box office returns, and the recent spike in interest for science fiction might be why they want to move forward on new movies.

Who knows what will end-up becoming of a fourth film, as current director Justin Lin has many other projects in development and has mentioned a desire to return to Fast and Furious eventually. I’m sure Paramount will have already locked him in for potential sequels, but things can change as they often do.

Star Trek Beyond is set for release in July 2016.
