Chris Pirri’s Top 30 Horror Movies: #23 The Hills Have Eyes (2006)

Oct 9, 2015

Its October and that means Halloween is almost here. In honor of my favorite holiday of the year I give to you my top thirty horror movies. Now some of these films might be on every list, but some might not. I might even have a film or two that you have never heard of. Just remember this is my top thirty. In other words these films made me cringe or just sent chills up my spine. So with no further ado here is my list.

# 23
The Hills Have Eyes (2006)
Directed by: Alexandre Aja

Hills1

I usually don’t care for remakes. Wes Craven did a great job on the original The Hills Have Eyes in 1977. So this will be my only remade movie in my top thirty.

A family is taking a vacation and heading to San Diego, driving through the desolate desert of New Mexico. They stop off for gas and are told there is a shortcut through the hills. unbeknownst to them this is a trap. They are caught right in the middle of an old Government nuclear test site. The family gets stranded and with nothing and no one around. This is where things turn drastic and deadly extremely fast. The test site is inhabited by people who are genetically disfigured from the nuclear fallout. So What happens next? Well it’s a slasher flick that will disgust and not disappoint.

This movie has plenty of gore and blood to keep your appetite suppressed. If that does not get you just take a look and the great makeup work and the horrifyingly disfigured people doing the killing.

Hills4

This movie will leave you with a look of awe on your face, and one question. What the hell did I just watch? Then you will find yourself strangely wanting more, trying to find the sequel which is just as fun.
