Christopher McQuarrie Confirms Return For ‘Mission: Impossible 6’

Nov 30, 2015

There have been reports circling that writer-director Christopher McQuarrie would be returning to make Mission: Impossible 6. McQuarrie took to Twitter to confirm this, the assumption is that he’ll return in both capacities. He’s currently directing Tom Cruise again in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, and has been teasing ideas for a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow.

Rogue Nation was easily the best installment since the original, although the main villain could have been a bit more developed. Some expect that the Syndicate could return becoming the franchise’s version of Spectre, but I’d hope that isn’t the case. Christopher is full of ideas, so repeating himself likely isn’t going to happen.

Tom Cruise of course is returning, but there is talk the studio keen on having standout Rebecca Ferguson reprise her role. A smart move on the part of Paramount, as the female roles in the series had been lacking real depth.
