CinemaCon 2017: Paramount Pictures Panel

Mar 29, 2017

Paramount  Pictures is aiming to hit hard this year with their 2017 film slate. Starting off strong with the cast of Baywatch showing us a brand new trailer deemed “FUchsia” rated. Baywatch seems incredibly reminiscent of the comedy that made the 21 Jump Street remake so great and with a cast including Dwayne Johnson and Zack Effron I’m definitely expecting some great laughs.

Surprising us all next with an appearance of former  Vice President Al Gore announcing his sequel to an Inconvenient Truth, An Inconvenient Sequel. Continuing the slate with another Cloverfield spin-off film from J.J. Abrams is hitting theaters this fall. As well as another suspense horror film from EX-Machina director Alex Garland starring Natalie Portman and Oscar Isaacs titled Annihilation.

Giving us a glimpse further down the line of their slate into 2018 and 2019 Paramount has marked another untitled Bad Robot production which I am hoping to be another Star Trek down the line. Nickelodeon animation also had on their slate another untitled Spongebob film and a feature length film for the Loud House. As well as Amusement Park that will spin-off into a TV Series a year after the film debuts.

Matt Damon and George Clooney made an appearance as well giving us a golden moment where Matt gave Clooney crap for Batman and his illustrious batnipples. They then showcased their new Fargo-esque thriller Suburbicon. Which has Clooney behind the camera as the films director. Matt Damon alsopremieredd the first footage for his other film Downsizing.

Ending the presentation with a pretty solid line up in hand Paramount for their last bit of the show brought out the Micheal Bay and the rest of the Transformers: The Last Knight cast to discuss the film. They went on to show 20 full minutes of the film. Unfortunately, it came out to be a bunch of random scenes spliced together throughout the actual movie.
