Entering Universals panel this year I had hopeful anticipation for an introduction into their soon to be reestablished Universal Monster Universe. Unfortunately, there was no slate or future title confirmations just yet but they rewarded us with a killer montage of the classic black and white Universal Monsters. Showing us the way to a new era of gods and monsters.

The theme this year of all studios seeming to be female leads and empowerment for Universal. Showing a montage of women in comedy before debuting the first trailer for the female-led comedy Girls Trip starring Queen Latifa and Jada Pinkett Smith. They also release a short montage for Charlize Theron before bringing her on stage to promote her new film Atomic Blonde. Directed by John Wick and Deadpool 2 director David Leitch. A ten minute sequence was shown at the Focus Features panel later on today.

Lastly, the studio brought on stage the stars of The Fate of the Furious including Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris and once again Charlize Theron. Noticeably absent was Dwayne Johnson after he was here at CinemaCon to promote two other films.  While once again confirming that the next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise will indeed be the beginning of a new trilogy. Totaling the entire saga up to 10 films altogether. Then Vin Diesel surprised the entire CinemaCon audience by debuting the first ever screening for Fate of Furious for the entire crowd!
