Deadline has learned that Marvel Studios has added quick witted comedian J.B. Smoove to the cast of Spider-Man: Far From Home in an undisclosed role but is said to be a lead.
With how large the Spidey universe and MCU has become, Smoove could easily play friend or foe.
There are plenty of characters he could be playing including boombastic Daily Bugle boss J. Jonah Jameson, journalistic mentor Robbie Robertson, tough as nails villain Tombstone, or someone completely new for the movie.
Filming is underway in London and is expected to eventually move to Prague, Venice, and NYC.
The sequel and first entry into Phase Four will be released on July 5th, 2019.
