Stephen Merchant has joined the cast of James Mangold’s Wolverine 3 in an unnamed role in the film according to Deadline.
The comedian is best known as the comedy sidekick to Ricky Gervias and mostly British projects.
A mutant with the biggest sense of humor just happened to be Logan’s shapeshifting pal Morph, I’d assume that’s the role, but I could be completely wrong. Morph is a former X-Men thought to be dead and eventually teams-up with super-villain Mister Sinister, becoming a reluctant/brainwashed villain himself.
Sinister is considered a British mad scientist known for the ability to clone mutants, it’s possible this could be another option for Richard E. Grant’s role in the film. He’s also a key figure in the origin of Cable as well. He could also be an excellent future villain for the X-Force film too.
