Hollywood Reporter has word that rapper turned actor Common (Suicide Squad, Selma, American Gangster, Run All Night, Wanted, Smokin’ Aces) has landed the villain role in Keanu Reeve’s John Wick 2, the anticipated sequel to the action phenomenon that has reenergized the action genre. The plot of the film is being kept out of the report, but Common is said to play a villainous head of security for an unnamed female crime lord.
Common was a fan-favorite to take the John Stewart role in the Justice League or new Green Lantern film, but ended-up in a supporting role in Suicide Squad instead. We have high hopes for the sequel and this new casting addition is smart move on the part of the studio.
I’m also very curious to find out who will be playing this female crime lord.
