We have assumed for months that Marvel’s Black Panther would be shooting in Atlanta like Ant-Man, Captain America: Civil War, Guardians of The Galaxy Vol.2 and Spider-Man.
The film stars Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Forest Whitaker, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Florence Kasumba and Letitia Wright.
We also suspect that Martin Freeman and Andy Serkis will be reprising their Marvel roles.
Project Casting has discovered that Marvel Studios is putting out an open casting-call for Black Panther in Atlanta. This confirms the Ryan Coogler film will indeed shoot at Pinewood Studios, Atlanta, along with the production beginning in January.
Here is the report from Project Casting.
Tammy Smith Casting is now casting background extras who are local to the Greater Atlanta area to work as a local in the new Marvel feature film, Black Panther. However, casting directors are also open to submissions from distant places, especially for featured roles. In addition, casting directors are looking for men and women who have a non-restricted Social Security Number and able to legally work in the United States. Marvel is casting a wide range of background actors including African men and women, ages 18 to 90.
Tammy Smith Casting are specifically casting people to play the people of the Wakanda homeland for the new Black Panther movie. But for the upcoming Black Panther movie producers are looking for talents that have the following skills:
- Drummers (African style)

Black Panther looks like it will begin shooting in January with it’s release date set for February 16th, 2018.
