Last week, there was a report making the rounds from Variety and Deadline that MGM/EON was in talks with Danny Boyle and his loyal screenwriter John Hodge to work on Bond 25.
Well, I think we’re all interested in the news as Boyle was approached for both Skyfall and Spectre, eventually filming Daniel Craig’s 007 segment for the Summer Olympics in London.
However, as with most reporting on Bond stateside that likely isn’t going to materialize as UK reporter Baz Bamigboye of the DailyMail has seemingly poured cold water all over the Danny Boyle talk.
#DannyBoyle to direct contemporary film musical based on script by #RichardCurtis . Untitled movie is about a struggling UK musician. Film’s in development with @Working_Title & @UniversalPics though I hear it could be shooting pretty soon in UK. pic.twitter.com/CzPUpjfkLR

Revealing he’ll instead be working on an untitled musical for Working Title and Universal Pictures in the UK with Richard Curtis and plans to get it shooting soon. This report likely suggests that Boyle won’t be working on Bond 25 after all.
Bond 25 is still set for November 8th, 2019.
