Omega Underground has been keeping close tabs on John Wick: Chapter 3. Previously revealing that production would be bumped from the fall to spring/summer (possibly to fit the schedules of both director Chad Stahelski and producer David Leitch) and that it recently started pre-production (THR confirming our report).
Now, we have a bit of crew information to share as we have learned the first major hiring on the production.
John Wick: Chapter 2 production designer Kevin Kavanaugh (Sicario 2: Soldado, Nightcrawler, The Dark Knight Rises, Only The Brave) is expected to return for the third installment.Kevin’s work was fantastic in Wick 2 and we can’t wait to see what has planned for us in the next installment.
Here are some examples of his work on other films including the upcoming Sicario sequel.
Chad and David’s company 87 Eleven Action Design will continue to handle stunts and action sequences along with overseeing the actors’ extensive fight and weapons training.
We currently don’t have production dates for the film but could begin filming this spring/summer. Lionsgate has given John Wick: Chapter 3 the release date of May 17th, 2019.
