David Ayer Teases Batman Villain Black Mask For ‘Gotham City Sirens’

Feb 28, 2017

David Ayer’s Gotham City Sirens seems to be full-steam-ahead as it’s been reported the film will shoot sometime this year with a 2018 release date expected.

Ayer was behind the successful but messy Suicide Squad. He previously revealed that Selina Kyle (Catwoman) and Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy) would be indeed joining Margot Robbie‘s Harley Quinn in the film.

The director has taken to Twitter to tease another character for the film. This time it’s Gotham City Siren’s possible villain Roman Sionis aka Black Mask.

Mob boss Black Mask was once a fan-favorite to be used in The Dark Knight Rises and continues to be a villain fans want to see potential appear in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

We had some hope that David Ayer and Zack Snyder would leave the other major Gotham character castings to The Batman’s Matt Reeves, but it looks like that poor man might have to consistently contend with dealing with actors he hasn’t been allowed to cast himself.

Luckily, the official castings for these characters haven’t happened yet, there is a chance Ayer and Reeves could come together to collaborate on the hiring. Fingers are crossed Reeves will be involved with the casting.

Keep it tuned to Omega Underground as we continue to update on Gotham City Sirens.
