‘Deadpool 2’s May Production Start Date Locked-In?

Feb 21, 2017

We’ve seen the production start for Fox’s Deadpool 2 aka Love Machine bounced around the last couple of months. First, it had been eyeing a start in January only to get pushed back months due to director Tim Miller‘s exit. It then was jumping from June to May.

John Wick’s David Leitch has since been hired to direct and pre-production sounds to be moving forward at a good pace. Ryan ReynoldsBrianna Hildebrand, and Karan Soni are currently the only confirmed cast members to be returning.

Now, it looks like 20th Century Fox might finally have a locked-in production date for the sequel.

Omega Underground has spotted on a Vancouver production site that Deadpool 2’s production start date could, in fact, be rolling cameras on May 1st.

This same source has been providing us with accurate local production dates. Including the start date for Shane Black’s The Predator which just started filming yesterday in Vancouver.

Previously, we spotted My Entertainment World had listed the May 1st start date but we now two production sites listing this start date. One of them being a local source.

Casting is ramping-up currently with Pierce Brosnan said to be landing a role (possibly Cable or the villain) and Kerry Washington is rumored to be the frontrunner to play Domino.

Deadpool 2 currently doesn’t have an official release date but it’s looking the film will land that Marvel/Fox spot on March 2nd, 2018. Considering that Logan is releasing on March 3rd, it would make sense for Fox to release the Deadpool sequel on a similar date.
