While Deadpool was arguably one of Fox’s most successful franchises, due to its very adult nature and tone it was aways a bit of a question mark as to weather or not Disney would continue with the Merc with a Mouth in the much more family friendly MCU. Well it appears our questions have been answered as Deadline reports the franchise and Ryan Reynolds are moving forward with Disney and they’ve found their writers for the threequel.
Reynolds who still apparently holds a lot of creative control over the franchise along with Marvel boss Kevin Feige have seemingly found their Deadpool 3 writers in Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molynewux-Loeglin. These to hilarious siblings have been cutting their teeth on Bob Burger’s and are ready to bring those comedic chops to Deadpool and the MCU
Now for those worried the mouse will censor our favorite foul mouthed superhero, you can put those worries to bed as Deadline also indicates the film is still targeting an R rating and will keep the over the top tone of its predecessors.
With the MCU looking to expand into the multiverse and add mutants to their ever expanding roster, Deadpool offers a unique opportunity to do both while maintaining ties to the original Fox incarnations. The possibilities are really endless with the Deadpool franchise so we are obviously excited to see where the MCU takes him.
