Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Blade Runner 2’ Officially Titled ‘Blade Runner 2049’

Alcon Entertainment and Warner Bros. have officially announced the title for Blade Runner 2, which will be Blade Runner 2049.

Blade Runner 2049‘s plot is being kept under lock-and-key, but it’s been said Gosling’s character will be hired to track down someone’s missing daughter and leads him towards Ford’s Deckard.

Ridley Scott is still involved as a producer with Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival) directing and Roger Deakins tackling the cinematography.

They’ve also released this behind the scenes photo with Ridley, Denis, Ryan and Harrison sharing a moment.

The cast includes Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Sylvia Hoeks, Carla Juri, Mackenzie Davis, and Barkhad Abdi.

It’s score will be handled by Jóhann Jóhannsson.

Production will begin soon in with it’s release date set for October 6th, 2017.
