Despite Losing It’s Director Sony’s ‘Masters of The Universe’ Eyeing A Vancouver Shoot

Mar 3, 2018

It was looking like David Goyer was going to direct Sony’s Masters of The Universe reboot until things fell apart and he recently exited the film. Goyer had posted images on Instagram of himself working on production artwork for the film.

Well, we have an update of sorts despite the film is currently without a director as the studio is still looking for a place to film it (whenever that happens as production dates are unknown) as the newest locale is said to be Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Vancouver has been a hot-bed for studio sci-fi/superhero action films such as Deadpool, Deadpool 2, The Predator, Elysium, Godzilla, Watchmen, Rise of The Planet of The Apes,  and Star Trek Beyond. Upcoming productions include Drew Goddard’s X-Force and Michelle MacLaren’s Cowboy Ninja Viking.

They’re also still scouting other locales which include Berlin, Prague, and Budapest.

Without production dates, Sony has time to wrangle a new director and hire a cast.

Sony had slated the release for December 18th, 2019.
