Devo’s Mark Mothersbaugh To Score ‘Thor Ragnarok’; Plus New Set Photos

Aug 23, 2016

The Wrap reports that musical genius Mark Mothersbaugh (Crash Bandicoot, Rugrats, Pee-Wee’s Playhouse) will be composing the score for Thor: Ragnarok. Mark Mothersbaugh has been making movie scores for decades and might not be as known for it, as he’s most from his iconic new wave band Devo.

However, his credits are impressive including scoring first four Wes Anderson films with Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic.

He’s also a longtime collaborator of Phil Lord and Chris Miller, working on The Lego Movie, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 1-2, 21 Jump Street, 22 Jump Street, their TV series The Last Man on Earth and we assume might be asked to help score the Han Solo film as well.

In other Thor news, Brisbane has been transformed into New York City for a couple of scenes being shot for Thor: Ragnarok. Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston were seen in civilian clothes on set as posted by Marvel Studios.

This has us a little perplexed as there had been talk from Marvel’s Kevin Feige that the Earthbound scenes were going to be minimal for the third film. Could this be a flashback scene or something leading into Infinity War?

Cameras are currently rolling on Thor: Ragnarok in Australia with a release set for November 3rd, 2017.
