Diamond Select Poison Ivy Statue (Review)

Sep 7, 2020

The villainous vixen Poison Ivy is headed to your local comic shop with this seductively dangerous statue. Designed by Shawn Knapp and sculpted b James Marsano this Ivy piece will have your collector friends green with envy when they see it on your shelf. Emerging from a bright and beautiful purple and pink flower, Ivy is dawning her classic leafed one piece while holding her fiery red hair, enchanting any passer by.

When it comes to Diamond Select pieces the statue itself is pretty basic. Not a lot of flash and effects, just the stand and the character and in this case it works perfectly. Everything about this piece pops from top to bottom. Ivy’s hair immediately catchers your eyes, its luscious red flowing and swinging through her figures. Your then drawn to her neon skin tone and soft facial features, her expression is one of content and comfort-ability. The suit itself is a forest green which acts as a nice contrast to her neon skin and adds to the naturalistic feel to the costume. The stand she so seductively emerges from is a giant flower made of pink and purple pedals. The whole piece is a Rain Forrest of color and will surely stick out next to your drab and dark Batman figures.

The details on the figure are subtle but sell the whole piece. Most notably are the waves in her hair and the muscles under her costume. Tedious to create but essential in making this figure a beautiful rendition of such a powerful character.

Honestly this statue is flawless, there isn’t a single thing I don’t like about it. It’s feminin, powerful, beautiful and will certainly figuratively and literally become the bright spot of any collection. Ivy fans should already have this pre-ordered but comic and collector finds if you have the means don’t sleep on this Queen.
