‘Doctor Strange’ Scribe Jon Spaihts with Eric Heisserer will co-write the ‘Van Helsing’ Reboot

News on Universals upcoming “Classic Monsters” cinematic universe has been pretty quite over the past 6 months. The upcoming crossover films all started with 2014 Dracula Untold and then next on the list was an upcoming Mummy reboot. Followed by Wolfman, Van Helsing, Frankenstein and Creature from the Black Lagoon. Now Variety is reporting that Doctor Strange and The Mummy screenwriter Jon Spaihts has indeed signed onto also write Van Helsing. He will co-write it with hours screenwriter Eric Heisserer. They also go onto reveal that Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise was once attached to the project but has since passed…

From some rumors we have heard Van Helsing is expected to be the “glue” that holds this cinematic universe together. He is expected to show up (or at least referenced) in most if not all of the other monster films.
