‘Dope’ Director Rick Famuyiwa Set To Helm ‘The Flash’ Feature Film

Today, Deadline is reporting that Dope director Rick Famuyiwa is set to helm the upcoming Flash feature film starring Ezra Miller. This comes off the director started following multiple DC Comics social media accounts in the recent weeks. Also, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith left the project as director after penning the script. His script was based off a treatment by 21 Jump Street directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord who left the film to direct Han Solo for Disney.

Rick Famuyiwa gained critical acclaim after his feature film debut Dope was shown at the Sundance Film Festival. He was also in the mix to direct Black Panther for Marvel before Creed director Ryan Coogler was attached. Currently star Ezra Miller is filming Justice League Part One after cameoing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice earlier this year. He will also next be seen in the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them this winter for WB.

The Flash speeds into theaters March 16th, 2018
