Doug Liman to direct Justice League Dark film “Dark Universe”

Aug 25, 2016

It looks like Justice League Dark is finally starting to pick up some steam. One moment the project is active, then dead, and now it appears Doug Liman has ditched Fox’s Gambit film for Justice League Dark.  The current working title for the film is Dark Universe. Guillermo del Toro was previously attached to the film. Scott Rudin is producing. Michael Gilio is writing the script.

Justice League Dark pits a group of unlikely heroes together to face supernatural threats. The line up includes Deadman, Zatanna, John Constantine, Etrigan the Demon, and Swamp Thing. Members of the team are often alternating based on the task that is at hand. Personally, I would love to see Keanu Reeves reprise his role as Constantine. I think his film was underrated and I think he killed it in the role. Here’s to hoping Warner Bros is giving him a call soon.

Although, I did not think of the idea myself, after hearing someone on twitter suggest that Alexandra Daddario should play Zatanna, I can’t really picture anyone else for the role now. I think she would be a great for the role.

‘Dark Universe’ will be part of the current DC Cinematic Universe. I’m curious to see how this will connect to other DC films.

There is currently a Justice League Dark animated film in the works, scheduled to hit shelves this fall. The film features Constantine, Batman, Zatanna, Deadman, Etrigan the Demon, Swamp Thing and Black Orchid.

Now that we are getting some sort of news on the film, who would you want to see play Constantine, Deadman and the others?
