Cliff Martinez, the composer of such scores as Drive, The Knick, Traffic, Only God Forgives, The Neon Demon and the upcoming War Dogs, has reportedly signed-on to score James Mangold’s Wolverine 3 according to Film Music Reporter.
While the composing he’s done for Nicolas Winding Refn has been amazing, I’m sort of wishing it’s more like his work from The Knick.
The final outing for Hugh Jackman was the titular mutant anti-hero is said to be R-rated and taking influence from multiple comic book storylines. Sir Patrick Stewart’s Xavier has been confirmed for the sequel, with rumors that cyborg villains The Reavers, X-23 and possibly big bad Mister Sinister are apart of the character lineup.
The film is currently shooting in New Orleans and New Mexico with a release date set for March 4th, 2017.
