Eddie Murphy’s ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ Shooting This Summer In L.A. and Detroit

Jan 15, 2017

After Paramount replaced director Brett Ratner with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah they’ve finally nailed down a possible production start for Eddie Murphy‘s Beverly Hills Cop 4.  A new production update suggests the film will be shooting in both Axel’s native Detroit and his regular hangout Los Angeles.

Jerry Bruckheimer and Murphy will produce with a script penned by Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec.

According to IMDB, the film is already in pre-production as they’ve hired a previsualization team.

Ratner’s reported idea for his incarnation was to see Alex return to Detroit during the coldest winter on record. A summer production shoot would mean that has been reworked since his exit.

A release date hasn’t been made official but it could be ready for 2018 if it does begin shooting this summer.
