Elizabeth Olsen Confirms Scarlet Witch Role In ‘Captain America: Civil War’

Apr 26, 2015

E! is reporting that at an event in London actress Elizabeth Olsen revealed she indeed will be reprising the role of Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War. While rumors suggested she’d be apart of the film there hasn’t been official word from Olsen or the studio. She would go on to mention shooting scenes for the film in Atlanta in two weeks.

“I guess I’m allowed to talk about that now.”

Following the events of Age of Ultron, the collective governments of the world pass an act designed to regulate all superhuman activity. This polarizes opinion amongst the Avengers, causing two factions to side with Iron Man or Captain America, which causes an epic battle between former allies.

The returning cast is said to include Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Frank Grillo, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie, Jeremy Renner and Sebastian Stan. Directing sibling duo the Russo Brothers are back with a script from Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus, the creative team will reunite for Avengers: Infinity War.

Marvel’s reboot of Spider-Man is expected to have his first appearance in the film as well, but it’s unknown the scale of the role since Panther has taken that place in the story. At the moment, actors said to be on a shortlist for Peter Parker include Asa ButterfieldNat Wolff, Tom Holland, Timothee Chalamet and Liam James.

I’d be willing to bet that Don Cheadle‘s War MachinePaul Bettany‘s Vision, Paul Rudd‘s Ant-Man, and Evangeline Lily‘s Wasp will also be apart of the lineup.
