The Wrap reports that veteran actors Emma Thompson and Kevin Kline have joined the growing cast of Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and The Beast which will be directed by Bill Condon.
Thompson will play Mrs. Potts while Kline will play Belle’s father Maurice.
The rest of the main cast includes Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as The Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, and Frozen‘s Josh Gad is currently in talks for a role as well.
Beauty and The Beast will begin production this May at Shepperton Studios in London and is set for release on March 17th, 2017.
Disney is obviously doubling-down on their fairytale films due to excellent reception along with big box office numbers for Maleficent and this weekend’s Cinderella. Other fairytale features in the works include Jon Favreau’s The Jungle Book, Alice In Wonderland: Through The Looking Glass and Tim Burton’s Dumbo.
