‘Everybody Wants Some’ Breakout Tyler Hoechlin Cast As Superman In ‘Supergirl’

It was recently revealed that that the Man of Steel will be making an appearance in the upcoming sophomore season of Supergirl now on The CW. Many fans had hoped that Smallville star Tom Welling might return to actually play the ‘Last Son of Krypton’ given he was only actually Superman for 30 seconds on the last episode of it’s 10 year run.

However, it’s been announced that Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin will be joining the cast as Superman himself. He joins the cast of the upcoming CW show alongside his on-screen cousin Supergirl played by Melissa Benoist.

Like Melissa, who was discovered from her feature work. Tyler recently breakout role in Richard Linklater’s Everybody Wants Some, the spiritual sequel to the cult-hit indie Dazed and Confused (one of Ben Affleck’s first films).

Showrunner and writer Andrew Kreisberg goes onto add:

“Greg [Berlanti] and I have wanted to work with Tyler for ages, so this worked out perfectly because Tyler is Superman. We are so thrilled and humbled to add another amazing actor to the legacy of this iconic character.”
