Deadline reports that Swedish actress Alicia Vikander is circling two rather large studio role post her thrilling role in Alex Garland’s Ex Machina. They report that Alicia is currently in talks with Universal for fifth Bourne film that reunites Matt Damon with director Paul Greengrass, along with another role in New Regency’s Assassin’s Creed. The latter has Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard attached as the leads with their MacBeth director Justin Kurzel set to helm it. Her next film will be Guy Ritchie’s The Man From U.N.C.L.E. which has Vikander co-starring alongside Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. The impression given in the article is that if Alicia can make it work she could do both projects, but has had to exit The Circle in the process. My understanding is that the new Bourne movie could shoot this summer with Creed production eyeing a fall/winter start.
We had previously ourselves reported that New Regency had been looking at multiple female roles in Assassin’s Creed, which could mean that Alicia might be playing a fellow assassin in the film as the studio was seeking out stunt people.
Bourne 5 is set for release on July 15th, 2016 and Assassin’s Creed is coming out on December 21st, 2016.
