Our friends over at TheHashtagShow recently revealed two names that were in the running for David F. Sandberg’s upcoming Shazam! feature film. Actors John Cena (Bumblebee) and Joshua Sasse were said to be frontrunners for the DC hero.
However, Omega Underground has exclusively found an audition tape for Arrow actor Parker Young, who has also auditioned for the role of Shazam.

Parker’s audition tape is only a week old and this could mean that the studio is still searching for their Shazam actor. The tape also includes references to the DC Extended Universe, which might put to rest theories the film won’t be set in the DCEU.
We recently confirmed production on Shazam! will begin this February in Toronto under the working title of Franklin (which we reported). The film is currently without a release date but it’s expected to be ready for some time in 2019.
