EXCLUSIVE: Audition Tapes For New Live-Action Scooby-Doo Project ‘Velma & Daphne’ Surfaces

Oct 9, 2017

Could another live-action Scooby-Doo feature film be in the works but this time only focusing on the ladies of the gang Daphne & Velma? A recent casting call went out from CastingAbout.com looking for their leading ladies Daphne Blake and Velma Dinkley. The tweet also claims that former Disney Channel star and singer Ashley Tisdale will be producing the film.

While looking more into this film we didn’t find much; besides back in 2016 Warner Brothers announced at CinemaCon they were looking to reboot Scooby-Doo into a Hannah-Barbera Cinematic Universe. However, at the time it was just titled S.C.O.O.B. This title Daphne & Velma, however, has been recently added to the newest edition of Production Weekly which adds some credibility to the project. Which explains why Moviehole ran an exclusive today stating the film was in the works. But they make no indication if this is actually a film or another low-budget TV movie in their story. Just that a project with this title is in the works. We will update once that information becomes available.

Now after doing some digging we at Omega Underground found an audition tape from African-American actress Alita LaShae (Video Game Catz, The Friendless Five) reading for the part of Velma as well as actress Lindsay Brill (Steven with a V) reading for a new character Principle Piper. Both of whom are speaking to Daphne. These audition tapes also show that the two are still in High School during this time. Which might actually mean this is a prequel origin story of how the two met:
