EXCLUSIVE: New Character Details Revealed for Borderlands Film

Here comes another video game adaptation, and we’ve recently learned this time it will star Cate Blanchett. The Oscar winner and prestigious actress is currently in talks to star as vault hunter Lilith in Lionsgate’s upcoming “Borderlands” film.

GWW has learned through our sources, the film will also feature several other in-game characters. Fan-favorites like Claptrap and Tiny Tina have been previously reported but we’ve learned of other Boarderlands Alumni who are also looking to appear in the film.

Crimson Lance and Atlas Mercenary Commander Steele, Pandora scientist Tannis, Lilith’s squad member Roland and barbarian leader of the Psycho gang Krom. No deal has been inked for Blanchett and outside of her preliminary talks, no casting information for the other characters are available at this time.

Our sources did give detailed character descriptions.

Roland is described as “a grizzled veteran but instantly readable as a decent man.” Tannis is “short with silver hair, magnifying goggles on his head and has the unblinking, steady gaze of a neurotypical scientist who sees a little less than you but also a whole lot more.” Krom is “like a barbarian conqueror of old. His mouth and jaw are gone and are replaced with riveted metal.” And finally, Commander Steele is described as “scarred, with cybernetic eyes and always in a terrible fu*king mood.”
