EXCLUSIVE: Women of Color Begin To Audition for CW’s ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’

Nov 3, 2017

Casting is well underway for The CW’s upcoming Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Last month we at Omega Underground brought you a slew of audition tapes from hopeful actresses reading for the role of Sabrina. Most are the typical blonde haired blue-eyed women you would expect reading for Sabrina just like Melissa Joan Hart (below) was originally on ABC.

However, then our friends over at That Hashtag Show revealed the casting call breakdown for Sabrina actually had “open ethnicity” which means anyone could read for the role regardless of race.

Female, Open Ethnicity, to play 16.

Sabrina is an half-human, half-witch,empowered young woman just beginning her dark education as a sorceress, even as she tries to maintain a normal life as a sophomore at Baxter High. Sabrina’s intelligent, compassionate, and brave to the point of recklessness.

She is fiercely loyal to her family and friends; wickedly funny and in the middle of a star-crossed romance with her classmate Harvey Kinkle. She challenges witch-doctrine at every turn. She is all that stands between us and the Forces of Darkness that threaten our world.

Now we at Omega Underground are back with a few more audition tapes from women of color reading for the role of Sabrina. We have New York-based actress and singer Ashley Chiu and actress Sherell Jackson (Survivors Anonymous) auditioning for the part:
