FAN-MADE: ‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’ Vs. ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ VHS Trailers

Apr 8, 2015

Sleepy Skunk best known for end of the year trailer mash-ups has posted this cool fan-made trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron, if it had been made twenty years ago in 1995. It’s awesome that he uses that cheesy-as-hell spandex outfit Cap was wearing in the first movie, which did look like it was made in the 90’s. There are also some audio and video clips from other films from the 90’s which makes this basically an homage to the blockbuster genre of that decade. Including some very distinct music from James Horner‘s Aliens score.

It’s not unlike this badass fan-made trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier that was making the rounds online last year. Taking a similar premise of what-if these movies were made decades ago and what their VHS trailers would look like. I sort of prefer the Winter Soldier VHS trailer if only because of the limited amount of actual Marvel footage used and being inspired by the faux trailer model of Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse. If this becomes a trend and we see this with every upcoming Marvel release I won’t be upset.
