Feige Says ‘Moon Knight’ Part Of Future MCU Plans – Was He Teased In ‘Captain America’ Movies?

Apr 23, 2018

While it had been rumored for years that Moon Knight could be getting his own solo series on Netflix a new response from Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige suggests he could be heading to the MCU instead.

Feige spoke with ScreenRant when asked if Moon Knight is in the cards. Suggesting he could be coming to the cinematic side in the next 5 to 15 years.

“Yes. Does that mean five years from now, 10 years from now, 15 years from now? There are stacks of character cards that we have in our, in our development offices, which we look at. Which we pull for him, which we discussed.”

Marc Spector is a mercenary while on a mission that goes south is left for dead in ancient dig site in Egypt and then is resurrected by a Egyptian god to be an agent of vengence. When he returns to New York City he moves between multiple personalities with Spector, a cab driver, weathly Playboy, and white costumed violent anti-hero named Moon Knight.

Marvel is known for teasing future characters with Easter Eggs and they might have already done this for Moon Knight in two Captain America sequels.

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier during Sitwell’s rundown of HYDRA threats it included a man fromĀ Cairo, Egypt.

The same spot was on a map of incidents that Thuderbolt Ross was showing the Avengers in Captain America: Civil War.

It should be pointed out both Wakanda (Black Panther) and Atlantis (Namor) were teased by Jon Favreau in a SHIELD map spotted in Iron Man 2, so maps could give us clues about future characters.

The interesting part here is that Moon Knight is a brutally violent character like Blade and Deadpool lending to more of a graphic R-rating. Disney’s Bob Iger has suggested with aquiring Deadpool post-merger they are now open to releasing R-rated Marvel films if audiences are clearly made aware of their mature material. This could mean they’ll end up creating a mature film division at Marvel Studios such as Marvel Knights or Marvel Max.

When and where he ultimately show up is a mystery but since his mystical origins he could be linked to a Doctor Strange sequel.
