Entertainment Weekly has revealed the first look at the Power Rangers suits to be featured in the upcoming film set to hit theaters March 24th, 2017.
By the looks of it, it appears this version of the Power Rangers are ditching the iconic lycra designs and are going with a much more hi-tech look, similar to what they did in the original Power Rangers film (1995). These suits definitely look like something out of this world with some sort of power source on their chest reminiscent of Iron Man. I’m excited to see what the Green Rangers suit will look like, assuming they introduce the character in this universe.
According to EW, the extraterrestrial armor crystallizes around their bodies.
On the subject of the new outfits, Director Dean Israelite said, “The show was about kids coming of age, about metamorphosis. These suits needed to feel like they were catalyzed by these kids and their energy, their spirit.”
Prior to this, EW released the new look for Rita Repulsa played by Elizabeth Banks.
Power Rangers will hit theaters next spring and stars singer Becky G as (Yellow Ranger) Trini, Ludi Lin as (Black Ranger) Zack, Dacre Montgomery as (Red Ranger) Jason, Naomi Scott as (Pink Ranger) Kimberly, and RJ Cyler as (Blue Ranger) Billy.
