FIRST LOOK: TJ Miller As Jack Hammer aka Weasel In ‘Deadpool’

Apr 5, 2015

A couple of new on-set snapshots via the Daily Mail has now given us the very first clear look at TJ Miller (Silicon Valley, Cloverfield, Big Hero 6) as Deadpool sidekick and arms dealer Jack Hammer also known as Weasel. Miller role in the film is said to add to the comedic elements of which I assume will include the banter between Weasel and his crazy pal Deadpol. If the studio does pursue sequels a role like Weasel would easily become a franchise player.

Miller is best known for his supporting comedic roles and his HBO series Silicon Valley, he first started making waves after his outrageous audition tape for a role in Yogi Bear. He used a live bear for the audition to play a ranger and it went viral as soon as someone released it on YouTube. The audition was actually shot by up-and-coming director Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kings of Summer), who is currently directing Kong: Skull Island for Legendary Pictures, and afterwards Metal Gear Solid for Sony. I’ll be curious to see if Miller is willing to do some equally dangerous scenes for Deadpool.

TJ is sort of the best person to take the buddy role in the series and could end-up even stealing some comedic moments from Ryan Reynolds. The rest of the main cast includes Reynolds, Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, and Morena Baccarin.

Get pumped! Deadpool is coming to theatres next February which is less than a year away.
