Entertainment Weekly has revealed our first official glimpses at the new mutants in X-Men: Apocalypse, including villains such as Apocalypse, Psylocke, and a young Storm, along with the younger versions of Cyclops and Jean Grey.
I have to say this does confirm previous talk that Singer and Fox were aiming for more colorful, comic book accurate costumes for this next outing. I’m sure learning a bit from how amazing reactions to the costume work in Tim Miller’s Deadpool as well. It’s hard to ignore that Psylocke looks like she basically step-out of a Jim Lee comic book. Taking a bit more risk like Marvel has recently with sticking with costume designs directly out of the source material. I’ll be honest this does look like the X-Men movie was expecting back in 2000, visually and I’m loving every piece of design work presented here, including Storm’s 80s’ era mohawk.
