Battle Angel has been in-development for almost a decade and recently switched from James Cameron directorial gig to a producing one. Robert Rodriguez was announced to takeover directing duties and there is a new report about it’s potential leading lady for the role of Alita.
The Hollywood reporter is stating that the three actresses involved include Maika Monroe (The Guest, It Follows, Independence Day: Resurgence) , Rosa Salazar (Maze Runner: The Scorch Trails, Insurgent, CHiPS) and Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s Zendaya.
The first two already apart of two huge Fox productions, so it’s hard to say they won’t be our best bet to land the role.
Variety also added that Bella Throne is in the mix as well.
It’s been said the manga/anime adaptation would be the first in a franchise, I’m fans will be quite vocal that none of these actresses are Japanese.
