The Hollywood Reporter is backing something up we’ve been hearing for months, that Fox is already planning Deadpool 3.
And in a sign of how much faith it has in the Reynolds-starring franchise, Fox already is planning Deadpool 3, readying a filmmaker search for a storyline that will involve another X-team, X-Force, say sources.
The film is said to be X-Force centric and should fill-out the rest of the team members, essentially this could most likely be the X-Force film with a stronger marketable title. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was titled Deadpool 3: X-Force or a version of that title.
We’ve known for months that the studio has seen Deadpool 3 and X-Force as a priority, so this news isn’t the least bit shocking to us. This makes the Cable casting even more important for the studio as he’ll be a secondary lead to Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson in multiple films.

Combining X-Force and Deadpool 3 seems like a way to keep the profitable Deadpool title while introducing the full team to audiences.
Variety reported that director David Leitch had originally been eyed to tackle X-Force before now being in negotiations to replace Tim Miller as the director of Deadpool 2. It’ll be interesting to see if David signs-on if he’ll stick around to make this third Deadpool movie as well.
Jeff Wadlow‘s original X-Force script had been tossed months back, so it looks like Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick could start from scratch on it. The writing duo have previously voiced a desire to tackle the project and with it now under the Deadpool umbrella they’ll write it.
Deadpool 2 is more than likely eyeing a March 2nd, 2018 release date, but it’s a little uncertain without an official start date announced.
