Frank Grillo Done With ‘Captain America’ and ‘Purge’ Franchises

Jan 6, 2017

Frank Grillo became a household name in the Marvel universe when he took down S.H.I.E.L.D from the inside as Brock Rumlow. He eventually became the super villain known as Crossbones in Captain America: Civil War but was quickly killed off to kick off the film. So the actor minor frustration with how his character was so easily killed off has been made apparent in a recent in interview.

While speaking with Collider Frank Grillo goes onto talk about how for himself; he is done with the Captain America films as well as The Purge films:

“If DeMonaco was still involved and they came up with a great idea, then I think I would do [another Purge movie]. Otherwise, I think I’m done. Same thing with Captain America. There’s nowhere for it to go, unless you’re Captain America or Iron Man. They were talking about it, but I was like, ‘You know what? I’d just rather not do it.’ I’m so appreciative and grateful to have been a part of something that big. I’m appreciative of The Purge. It’s become a part of the lexicon and the zeitgeist knows what it is, so that’s been fun. But, it’s time to move on. Don’t stay at the party too long, or you get knocked through the ropes.”

It sounds as if Marvel might have revived the character after his death but sounds as if Grillo was done. I mean if Marvel keeps bringing back characters after their deaths the stakes don’t mean anything. Hero or villain, characters need to die off and stay dead.

The Purge: Election Year and Captain America: Civil War are both on DVD & Blu-Ray Today
