‘G.I.Joe’ Star Elodie Yung Joins ‘Daredevil’ as Elektra

Jul 11, 2015

Marvel recently announced that G.I.Joe: Retaliation star Elodie Yung has joined the cast of Marvel’s Daredevil alongside returning star Charlie Cox and newcomer Jon Bernthal as The Punisher. Elodie Yung hit the spotlight in Hollywood ever since playing the ninja Jynx in the G.I.Joe sequel. She was also one of the final contenders for Wonder Woman a couple years back but that role ended up going to Gal Gadot. Marvel TV President Jeph Loeb went onto comment on the recent casting:

“After a worldwide search,  we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity. Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

Ironically enough I mentioned her name several months ago for Elektra on Twitter due to her role in G.I.Joe and I guess Marvel must have been listening.
