‘Gambit’ Will Reportedly Start Production This March In New Orleans

Jan 11, 2016

We recently did a write-up concerning Gambit’s eventual release date bump to 2017, due to the second director search and missing that widow to start shooting. Well there’s finally confirmation of when and where we’ll actually have the X-Men spin-off directed by Doug Liman start it’s cameras rolling.

An ABC affiliate in New Orleans reports that Gambit will start production this March in New Orleans, the home of the ragin’ cajun and other blockbusters such as last year’s Jurassic World. This gives the production less than seven months to be prepared for the original October release date, which means Fox will indeed push the release to 2017 as we suspected.

Channing Tatum was sporting what looks like a Remy inspired haircut at the Golden Globes last night. Tatum owns the restaurant Saints & Sinners in New Orleans french quarter which could be used in the shooting in the film.
