‘Gambit’s March Production Start In NOLA Has Been Given The Axe

Jan 29, 2018

When it was announced that director Gore Verbinski was exiting the Gambit production it seemed like we should have been bracing for a production shake-up concerning the filming dates. However, we had word that Fox was still aiming towards that March start in New Orleans, Lousiana as we previously reported.

Omega Underground has confirmation that Gambit has been pulled for the time being off production schedules and I assume until a director has been found will be placed on hiatus until new dates can be scheduled dependent on who directs.

I also wouldn’t be shocked “if” filming moves from Lousiana to Montreal, Quebec. Montreal (has doubled multiple cities) has been a reliable locale for the X-Men franchise and the Canadian city also could have some open space, that’s if Big Easy Studios ends up offering the stage space to another production.

There’s a good chance we’re looking a summer shoot for Gambit considering the recent release date change. Fox recently switched Gambit’s release date from February 14th, 2019 to June 7th, 2019.
