Nov 19, 2016

Today, Star Wars officially announced that the Mother of Dragons herself Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Terminator Genisys) had been cast in the upcoming Han Solo spin-off movie. The specifics on her unnamed character is being kept under wraps however the site goes onto say “Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.” Other actresses up for the part included Kiersey Clemons (Dope, The Flash), Tessa Thompson (Creed, Thor: Ragnarak) and Jessica Henwick (Iron Fist, Game of Thrones) all ethnic minorities. Which makes it odd they went with Emilia Clarke? Never-the-less, Clarke joins Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover who was cast as young Han Solo and Lando respectively. 21 Jump Street & The Lego Movie director Phil Lord & Chris Miller are attached to direct the film.
