Captain Marvel is currently filming in Atlanta and we have gotten some new casting news that might be significant.

According to Deadline, star of AMC’s science fiction series Humans Gemma Chan has been cast in Captain Marvel from Marvel Studios.

Chan is known for her roles on the series Humans, which is returning for its third season, and will next be seen in Crazy Rich Asians and Mary Queen of Scots. She will be playing Kree spy Minn-Erva in the film. Minn-Erva was a Kree geneticist who came to Earth to find Mar-vell and use his genetic code to advance Kree culture. She develops powers similar to Captain Marvel and becomes one of her most formidable enemies.

Chan will join Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn and Jude Law as Mar-Vell.

Captain Marvel is set for release March 8, 2019.
