Gerard Johnstone Boards ‘Justice League Dark’ To Polish Script; ‘IT’ Director Andy Muschietti Almost Tapped for Gig

Today, it was announced by Deadline that Housebound director Gerard Johnstone has boarded WB’s long in-development Justice League: Dark feature film. He has not joined to direct the picture but instead to help polish the script that has many treatments.

The site reveals that the hunt for a director is still on after Guillermo del Toro and recently Doug Liman dropped out of production. Apparently, Mama and this year’s IT director Andy Muschietti almost was scored for the production But once It started tracking so well; the director dropped out of contention to work on IT’s inevitable sequel. 

It’s unknown at this time of JLD will be connected to the ever-growing DC Expanded Universe or will actually be a stand alone non-canonical film like the recently announced Joker origin movie.
